How does a 19-year-old Screen Arts student get almost half a million dollars to make an animated zombie series set on a rural New Zealand farm?

Meet animator and filmmaker Charlie Faulks, creator of Bloke of the Apocalypse, for a 90-minute masterclass exploring the journey from first idea to finished screen project. Charlie will share what he learned about developing an idea, making those first episodes, finding collaborators, pitching and funding, animation, production and bringing a project through to completion.

There’ll be video excerpts, behind-the-scenes material and plenty of time for questions and conversation.

For secondary students, aspiring filmmakers and animators, emerging creatives, writers, artists, storytellers, and anyone curious about how screen projects get made. No previous filmmaking or animation experience required.
